Members & Vets Up “Heroes for Heroes” Luncheon
Appling Middle School hosted 33 veterans, including two survivors of World
War II, at its “Heroes for Heroes” luncheon last week. The Veterans Day
tribute allowed students to have lunch and interact with men and women who have defended the nation’s freedoms, many
of them being family members and friends from the Appling community. Hero sandwiches were
provided for all of the special guests courtesy of Pietro’s. Among the names and photos added to the school’s
Hero Wall of Fame this year were Appling’s very own Anne Faulks, U.S.
Navy, Joaquin Loper, U.S. Air Force, Andrew Blair,
U.S. Army, and Stephen Williams, U.S. Army.
